Church at Home

March 19, 2020 | Josh Knowles

What is it that we say at the end of each worship service?

"Go in peace to love and serve the LORD."

Normally, that's an invitation to go out to your homes and families, your workplaces and schools, your neighbourhoods, and wherever the LORD might take you for the next week. When we last proclaimed that blessing over one another on March 8, 2020 we had no idea that it would be the last time our congregation as a whole would do this together for the foreseeable future. However, that benediction still stands. We have scattered. We're just staying scattered. At this time, for many of us, that means scattering primarily to our homes except for essential errands. But we are still the people of God. Remember those things we always do together: singing, prayer, learning from God's Word, loving one another. Keep doing those things on your own and with your family. They will sustain you.

We will be providing weekly resources for Sunday worship at home. These will be sent via email and will be available on our church website as well.

Pastor Josh will still be providing live video content on Sunday morning (at 11:00) as well as short devotional talks Wednesdays at 3:00 and Fridays at 11:00.

Increase, O God, the spirit of neighborliness among us, that in peril we may uphold one another, in suffering tend to one another, and in homelessness, loneliness, or exile befriend one another. Grant us brave and enduring hearts that we may strengthen one another, until the disciplines and testing of these days are ended, and you again give peace in our time; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
